Computer Science ‘20
Sophie co-founded Van Wickle Ventures after seeing an unmet need in the Brown ecosystem through her work as co-president of the Brown Entrepreneurship Program and with Hult Prize at Brown. Previously, she helped early-stage startups fundraise at the equity crowdfunding platform SeedInvest and worked with entrepreneurs in emerging markets at Endeavor. When she’s not talking about startups, you’ll typically find her drinking coffee, watching baking shows, or riding horses.

John is a big fan of Brown-founded ventures and has interned at accelerators and startups, including Casper. As a co-founder of Van Wickle Ventures, John enjoys meeting founders and feeding off their excitement! He also loves learning from the Van Wickle Ventures team members and Investment Committee. On the weekends, you can find John playing basketball at the OMAC.
Applied Math - Economics ‘20
Kanika has spent the last two summers working in the entrepreneurship space, the first at a cold brew startup in NYC and the latest at a software startup within Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator (ERA) in Manhattan. Both experiences built her fascination with the idea of building a company from the ground up based on a vision of change, and now she’s excited to leverage her early-stage startup experience to work on the investor side of things. You can always catch her browsing Indiegogo or carrying her red violin case around campus.
Economics and Computer Science ‘21
Asif has spent several summers working in investment banking and finance. He first became interested in entrepreneurship after completing a business seminar over the summer in NYC. Having seen the investor perspective in his banking industry, he is excited to transition this perspective into venture capital and source exciting early-stage startups. Outside of the venture capital space, his hobbies include playing basketball and biking around campus.

Jake is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Math and Computer Science. At Brown, he is involved with EP, Innovation Dojo and Brown Political Review.
Applied Math - Computer Science, PLME ‘21
Ved has been interested in the entrepreneurship space since high school, where he helped his research laboratory commercialize gene therapy research. Since joining Brown, Ved has become interested in more technical fields, and worked at the Brown Center for Bioinformatics, where he helped build a proprietary medical record system for a professor’s start-up. When its not freezing outside, Ved loves spending time outdoors and exploring Rhody. Catch him at the OMAC playing pick-up basketball, or reading a book at his favorite places on campus (Econ + Philosophy buildings).
Olivia is the co-president of Brown’s Entrepreneurship Program and former Director of Women’s Entrepreneurship. She has also had experiences on the executive boards of Brown’s Women in Business and Pre-Law Society.
Development Studies and Latin American & Caribbean Studies ‘20
Jackson is from Costa Rica and has lived in Mexico and India. He has worked as a product designer for agricultural products in Ghana as well as human centered design consultant for a Latin American microfinance company based in Colombia. Before that he worked as the Head of Sales for the state of Rhode Island for an alcoholic ginger beer company. Jackson’s hobbies include surfing, blacksmithing and making lamps.
